Reunion Schedule

Four days of food, games, and time together — Thursday through Sunday. Here's the plan as it stands; a few details (highlighted below) are still being finalized.

Thursday
Arrival & Welcome

Location  Hilton Garden Inn / Homewood Suites by Hilton · 7491 New Ridge Road, Hanover, MD 21076

Afternoon

  • Arrival & Check-In — Greet family members as they arrive and hand out welcome packets with event details and schedules.

Evening

  • Welcome Refreshments — Light snacks and beverages available.
  • Meet & Greet — Introductions to help family reconnect.
Friday
Family Fun Day

Location  Matthewstown Pavilion at Harmans Park · 7605 Ridge Chapel Road, Hanover, MD 21076 (located behind Joe Cannon Stadium – enter to the left of the blue water tower)

Afternoon

  • Family Bingo — Fun bingo game with family-related prizes.
  • Picnic Lunch — Outdoor picnic catered by Famous Dave's Barbecue, with grilled meats, vegetables, and sides.
  • Kids' Activities — Crafts and games for children.
  • Sports & Games — Volleyball, basketball, relay races, and other group games.
  • Family History Workshop — Share stories, photos, and documents about family history.
  • Photo Session — Group and individual family photos.
  • Walk / Hike — Explore local park or nature trail.

Saturday
A Day in Washington, D.C.

Morning

  • Bus Trip to D.C. — Depart 9 a.m.
    • Meet no later than 8:45 a.m. in the hotel lobby. The bus will depart from the Hilton Garden Inn promptly at 9 a.m. for Washington, D.C. and will drop passengers off at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, 1400 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, D.C., on the National Mall.

Afternoon

  • Lunch — At your leisure in a local D.C. restaurant.

Late Afternoon

  • Depart D.C. at 4 p.m.
    • The bus will depart from the National Museum of African American History and Culture, 1400 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, D.C., on the National Mall promptly at 4 p.m. and return to the Hilton Garden Inn in Hanover, Maryland.

Evening

  • Banquet — 7–10 p.m.
    • A semi-formal buffet dinner with speeches and toasts.
  • Dance Party — An evening of dancing.
  • Group Photo — A final group photo to commemorate the event.
Sunday
Farewell & Departure

Morning

  • Church Serviceto be confirmed
  • Farewell Brunch — A late-morning brunch to wrap up the reunion.
  • Family Meeting — Discuss plans for future reunions and collect feedback.

Afternoon

  • Departure — Say goodbyes and make sure everyone has transportation arranged.
